GENERAL SUMMARY
The Supervisor-Imaging is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Imaging Department and provides direct supervision of imaging personnel. This position ensures efficient workflow, quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational effectiveness across assigned imaging modalities.
The Supervisor serves as the frontline leader for imaging services, coordinating staffing, productivity, quality monitoring, and employee engagement while supporting departmental goals and initiatives. The position functions as the department leader in the absence of the Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises daily operations of imaging services to ensure efficient workflow and patient throughput.
- Coordinates staff assignments and schedules to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Monitors productivity, patient volumes, and operational performance metrics.
- Serves as the operational leader during manager absences.
- Provides direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, and support to imaging staff.
- Assists with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and competency validation.
- Conduct performance evaluations and participate in corrective action processes.
- Identifies staff development opportunities and coordinates ongoing education.
- Ensures compliance with departmental policies and protocols, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors image quality, documentation standards, and patient safety practices.
- Assists with quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
- Investigates and follows up on operational concerns and service recovery opportunities.
- Coordinates routine equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
- Monitors inventory and supply levels.
- Escalates equipment, staffing, and operational concerns to department leadership.
- Participates in process improvement initiatives designed to improve patient care, quality, efficiency, and staff engagement.
- Assists with implementation of new equipment, services, workflows, and operational changes.
- Monitors outcomes and reports results to department leadership.
- Collaborates with providers, nursing staff, radiologists, and support departments to promote effective patient care.
