Regional Manager of Distribution

BASIC PURPOSE: The Regional Manager of Distribution is a leadership role that manages and directs all facets of the distribution business across multiple DC locations/geographies. This critical position is responsible for maximizing the productivity and throughput of Love’s distribution operations, which includes but is not limited to: warehouse organization and design, inventory management and control, productivity, processes and procedures, managing performance metrics, and all warehouse functions to include safety, receiving, picking, QA, loading/unloading, facility maintenance, and more. You will have full P&L responsibility, leading a team of up to 200 team-members, servicing our hundreds of customers. The role will support three to four dispersed distribution centers requiring up to 75 percent travel.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:

• • Comply with all OSHA safety standards and foster a safety-centric culture
  • Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet or exceed company expectations
  • Verify all powered equipment certifications are completed and monitor activity in telematics system

Team Leadership:

• • Provide strong leadership to the distribution team, promoting a culture that aligns with Love’s Core Values
  • Lead with compelling vision that aligns with Love’s short and long-term objectives
  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams capable of achieving operational excellence
  • Establish clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance evaluations

Strategic Planning:

• • Develop and implement distribution strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost reductions
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align distribution goals with overall business goals

Operational Excellence:

• • Ensure inventory management and cycle count procedures are adhered to
  • Oversee continuous improvement activities and implement best practices to drive operational improvement
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies

Collaboration:

• • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including supply chain, finance, sales, and IT to ensure seamless coordination of activities
  • Build strong relationships with external partners and vendors

Technology Integration:

• • Become a SME (subject matter expert) in all distribution related systems
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance distribution processes

Budget Management:

• • Full P&L responsibility for the region
  • Develop and manage the distribution budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to distribution operations

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

            Education:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or other related field
  • Master’s degree is a plus

            Experience:

• • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience as a multi-site leader with full P&L responsibility in a similar warehouse distribution model
  • SAP experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with material handling and storage technology and automation

 

            Typical Physical Demands:

• • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 85 pounds
  • Ability to operate industrial powered equipment
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
