The company creates value by partnering with established local businesses, allowing owner-operators to operate independently while providing resources and assistance to grow revenue and increase profitability.
The VP of Operations will oversee all aspects of operations (field, project management, estimation, purchasing and safety) for Crosby Electric. The VP of Operations will have full P&L ownership and accountability for attaining sales and revenue goals, planned EBITDA, and maintenance base growth goals.
Key Deliverables:
· Promote a Sales Culture within the organization to Achieve Local Sales Plan
· Grow a Profitable Service Business with a strong recurring maintenance base
· Manage Projects Team to achieve booked margin, predictably forecast revenue and margin, and mitigate project risk to the business
· Control Expenses to ensure a healthy and lean business operation
· Provide leadership for adoption and Implementation of Repeatable and Scalable Operations and Management Plan of the business within CMG (Crete Mechanical Group) guidelines
Position Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership across the business demonstrating a high degree of creativity, foresight, expertise with mature judgment in planning, organizing, guiding, and managing autonomous individuals and diverse groups towards consistent and excellent execution
· Develop a strong sales presence in the market with the ability to build relationships across existing and potential verticals both upstream and down
· Develop new client relationships with owners, developers, real estate professionals, architects, vendors, and contractors while enhancing and expanding existing relationships
· Optimize full cycle performance workflows (Prospecting > Estimating & Pricing > Negotiating > Booking > Execution > Billings > Collections) to ensure timely presentation of monthly financial results and forecasts monthly to senior management
· Review all estimating and pricing activity to ensure best value solutions at highest attainable margins
· Margin achievement for projects, work orders, and maintenance agreements.
· Ensure labor resource loading and productivity tracking are implemented, updated, analyzed on a weekly basis
· Regular and consistent 1:1 check-in with direct reports with clearly identified, metrics driven goals and objectives
· Team development and the conducting of periodic performance reviews and solicitation of suggestions from staff on improving procedures, productivity, and efficiencies
· Providing wise, high integrity and authoritative decisions and recommendations that have significant impacts on the activities of the business and the markets we serve
· Coordinate with other CMG businesses to promote cross selling and solutions selling growth initiatives
Position Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree not required, but preferred, with preference to technical degrees
· 10 or more years’ experience in Commercial construction -mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) sales and operations management
· 5 or more years with P&L responsibility of at least $10M in the industry
· 5 or more years of management of 10 or more direct or indirect reports
· Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and expertise
· Computer literate to include average skills with Microsoft applications
· Trade ERP experience strongly preferred
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Client-facing communication experience required
· Strategic, process-oriented thinker with strong work ethic and decision-making ability
· Self-motivated and able to execute in a fast-paced, people and metrics centric environment
· Proven ability to generate accurate, consistent, and timely business outcomes
· Demonstrable experience of collaborative team leadership and ability to inspire others
