About the role

The Old Colony YMCA’s STRIVE is a Treatment and Pre-Independent Living Program contracted with the Department of Youth Services. The Program’s goals are to help youth engage in clinical services, education, develop independent living skills and participate in pro-social recreational activities in order develop self-awareness so that they can lead meaningful and successful lives.

The Old Colony YMCA’s STRIVE is currently in need of a MA Level Clinical Director. The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall development, implementation, assessment, and administration of quality clinical services to the adolescent residents of the program.

Typical job responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that all clinical services are consistent with the operating policies of the YMCA, OCCS, DYS, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate all admissions and discharges of residents.
  • Ensure that a thorough intake of the client into the program has occurred.
  • Ensure that bio-psychosocial assessment has been completed on each resident.
  • Development an individual service plan for each resident which includes education, health, social, psychological, and psychiatric services; cognitive, behavioral, individual, group and family therapy, and medical/dental care (routine, ongoing, and emergency services).
  • Ensure that appropriate and timely case record documentation by Unit Caseworker and Clinicians are in accordance with program standards.
  • Provide supervision to the assigned interns and volunteers.
  • Conduct clinical meetings and monthly staffings.
  • Provide and monitor the provision of individual, family, and group therapy to residents.
  • Ensure DYS strategic plan is implemented as directed.
  • Assess and monitor clients on suicide watch in conjunction with the clinical team.
  • Ensure that weekly and monthly statistics are compiled and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures such as petty cash, purchase orders, vouchers, and employee expenses as requested.
  • Supervises Clinician(s) on staff; is responsible for scheduling and assigning work, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers and terminations.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Master level LICSW Social Worker or possess a Master Degree in a related field
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Have visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain security of unit
