Benefis Health System, in Great Falls, Montana, is launching an innovative Institute of Health Improvement and Longevity designed to transform how we approach lifestyle-drive care and cognitive health. We are seeking a second Functional Medicine Physician to serve as a core member of the Institute’s foundational, interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive, evidence-informed care focused on prevention, optimization of health, and healthy longevity. This position works collaboratively with geriatricians, functional medicine, specialists, psychologists, physical therapists, registered dietitians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, helping patients improve health span, reduce disease risk, preserve cognitive and physical function, and maximize quality of life across adulthood.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform detailed medical evaluations including lifestyle, environmental, nutritional, metabolic, and psychosocial assessments.
- Develop individualized care plans using evidence-based functional medicine principles and precision medicine approaches.
- Interpret advanced laboratory testing when clinically appropriate and incorporate findings into patient treatment plans.
- Provide longitudinal care with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and sustainable lifestyle change.
- Collaborate with patients to establish measurable health goals and monitor outcomes over time.
- Prescribe medications, nutritional therapies, supplements, and other treatments when medically indicated.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Preventive Medicine
- Preference for formal training or certification in Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, or Nutrition.
- Experience caring for patients with chronic inflammatory, autoimmune, metabolic, hormonal, or gastrointestinal disorders.
- Interest in longevity medicine, cognitive health, and healthy aging.
- Demonstrated commitment to preventive, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
