About the Role:

This position is located in Franklin Park (Chicago), one of the major Ferrero plant acquired in North America with 700+ employees producing iconic products: Butterfinger and Baby Ruth.

 

The Food Safety & Quality Systems Manager is a key management position in the Ferrero Quality Organization, in charge of developing and managing the Quality system and the Food safety system for the plant. As the Food Safety & Quality Systems Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Quality for the Plant. In this role, you will be training and developing employees, leading root cause analysis and managing internal and external audits.
 

Main Responsibilities:

Product and Process Quality Standards

  • Implement a Quality system following ISO9001 model and Ferrero standard, in collaboration with Corporate Quality.

 

Maintain and develop a Food Safety system based on model FSSC22000

  • Manage the quality documentation in collaboration with the Quality Supervisors 
  • Create and update Food Safety Procedures
  • Prepare & coordinate all Food Safety & Quality auditing and inspections for the site
  • Manage various certifications
  • Manage Food Safety plans: Facilitate risk analysis, maintain HACCP and HARPC plans, manage the validation and verification of Preventive Controls, maintain recall procedure
  • Develop and validate the sanitation program
  • Supervise the pest control provider and monitor trends, correctives actions related

 

Employee Training

  • Develop the employee training programs and presentations
  • Conduct plant wide training with all employees and assist with auto-control training
  • Coordinate training of plant internal auditors

 

Audits

  • Coordinate internal audit planning and execution, including plant, external warehouse, services providers
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of all certifications related to quality: standard Group certifications (ISO9001 and FSSC22000), certifications required by clients or local authorities
  • Monitor process indicators included consumers complaints and assures central data collection related to quality, certification and management system matters
  • Monitor KPI and reports on action plans progress to Plant Manager and to plant team
     

Who we are looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality & food safety systems management in a food manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field is an asset
  • Strong Knowledge of Food Safety programs GFSI and cGMP’s required
  • PCQI and FSMA training
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards – ISO 9001 is a plus
  • Internal auditing experience is an asset
  • Root cause analysis experience
  • Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
