Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
• Meets required schedules while producing quality work.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
• Work in an outdoor environment (in the field), as required.

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating. 
• Candidates must have completed 1 year of study in their program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working for a large general contractor.
• Previous relevant internship experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook) as well as exposure to construction-based computer programs.
• Experience using Revu, other PDF programs, and Procore Project Management program.

• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but not limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment and is a condition of your continued employment.
