We are currently seeking a Senior IT Asset Management Manager to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced hands-on senior manager with deep experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) including hardware and software asset management as well as experience working with the adjacent functions (Change and Release Management) to identify improvement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience participating in, and performing work relative to gap analysis, maturity assessments, tool selection, tool implementation, and documentation and implementing improvements.
This position will be supporting a client with a large global presence. While this person will be hands-on in the data, it is a management position. The candidate will manage a team of software and hardware asset managers that are a mixture of direct-hire and sub-contractors. This manager also oversees a warehouse contract that provides receiving, shipping, and disposal services. Management responsibilities will include management of timesheets, tracking training requirements, writing and delivering performance reviews, interviewing, hiring, and development of team members.
This position can be remote for the right candidate but will require occasional trips to the office to meet with team members. Preference will be given to candidates in the Washington DC metro area.
Duties:
- Make recommendations about data structure for the CMDB and implement approved changes through the tool admins.
- Performs asset audits to verify compliance with contract requirements.
- Ensure data is accurate and complete by implementing processes that ensure assets are updated at each level of handling.
- Develop and improve the automation of information collection and reporting.
- Continual Improvement of existing processes and development of new ones.
- Perform semi-annual SOP review with customer team and make updates as needed
- Developing and documenting processes, procedures, work instructions, and job aids.
- Deliver reports to customer and attend customer calls and meetings.
- Create, review with the customer, and deliver monthly contractual deliverable reports.
- Attend weekly and ad hoc meetings with the customer team, prepare presentations for those meetings, capture action items, track customer concerns to closure.
- Coordinate efforts with other enterprise departments and teams
- Act as a point of escalation for software and hardware asset management.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to simultaneously track multiple activities with changing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to brief customers at various levels up to the executive levels of the agency.
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative to identify, track, and resolve issues.
- Excellent with Excel and proficient with Word, PowerPoint, and other standard Microsoft Office tools. Experience with Google apps and Google Drive is a plus.
- Experience with an ITSM tool. ServiceNow is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with conflict resolution.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in an asset or inventory control or similar role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with inventory reconciliation or similar activities.
- Minimum 3 years of management/leadership experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a direct customer facing role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a role supporting government clients.
- Secret Security Clearance required.
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Physical Science, or other technology-related discipline.
- Equivalency: High School Diploma + 4 additional years of experience = Associate's Degree; Associate's Degree + 4 additional years of experience = Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITAM certifications (such as CHAMP or CSAM) preferred
- ITIL Certification (v3 or 4) is a plus
- Experience working with developers to capture requirements for enhancements.
- Experience with ServiceNow as an admin or developer is a plus
