Credit Analyst Team Lead

Manages business unit credit analyst staff and coordinates the related development, implementation, and/or administration of critical projects, processes, and systems within the commercial division.  Serves as the principal resource to Relationship Managers for addressing concerns, processes, credit analysis and evaluation issues concerning existing and potential commercial loan customers.

Location: This role would be in person at our Seattle office – 601 Union Street, Suite 3100 Seattle, WA 98101.

Essential Functions:

• Manages a team of credit analysts; including training, process improvements, scheduling, department coverage and knowledge of division needs.
• Analyzes and adjusts workloads and workflows of direct reports as needed; to define and implement “best practices” which define the most efficient way to conduct specific processes, meeting turn-around timeframes and lean thinking concepts.
• Assists Relationship Managers in credit analysis, assessment of risk rating, loan reporting and other credit administration requirements.
• Reviews and evaluates business financial reports, prepares written credit authorizations, and prepares financial statement presentations for analyzing business borrowers.
• Prepares credit authorizations pursuant to Bank policy and ensures proper monitoring and documentation is addressed. Prepares financial statement presentations and projections and customized spreadsheets for analyzing all commercial borrowers and prospects. 
• May accompany RM on planned client calls, providing direct, professional contact with customer or associated peripheral contacts.
• Coordinates the business unit’s interaction with key delivery support units including: Information Technology (IT), Credit Administration, Finance, Deposit Support, Loan Service Center, Branch Delivery, Direct Banking, etc. 
• Coordinates the business unit’s development of service level agreements with other units and performs periodic performance evaluation of them relative to those agreements.
• Integrates effective Internal Controls into all applicable work processes. Maintains a working knowledge of Internal Controls with particular attention to Key Controls.  Is responsible for ensuring that updates to Internal Controls documentation are performed timely when there are changes in the risk parameters and/or work flow.
• Manages and/or coordinates special projects as requested by supervisor.
• Partners with Bank training department to provide feedback and needs assessment for Credit Analyst Training program.
• Regular, reliable attendance is required.
• Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of bank products and services is required.
• Strong accounting aptitude.
• Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability.
• Experience with computer assisted financial analysis and PC-based financial models; knowledge of spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel, etc).
• Strong knowledge of Bank loan policies and general commercial documentation requirements.
• AIB course work in analyzing financial statements desired.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong detail orientation with high level of organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative; ability to work well both independently and with others.

Compensation: $110,652 - $166,052 with a target starting range of $125,000 - $150,000.

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Seattle, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is eligible to participate in an applicable annual incentive plan.
