Essential Functions:

  • Ensures operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming receipts and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of products, and keeping warehouse inventory current.

  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.

  • Collaborates with other distribution centers and business leaders to ensure coordination of all business.

  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.

  • Participates in employee safety and plant protection activities.

  • Provides leadership, ensures adherence to company practices and procedures, and applies corrective action when needed.

  • Assists in Interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff. Assists in conducting performance monitoring of staff, initiates follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.

  • Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and serves as a resource to them.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong motivation toward company, team, and individual results. 

  • Ability to work effectively with others as well as build and maintain professional interpersonal relationships. 

  • Must be able to read, analyze, present, and interpret written documentation. 

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and present information. 

  • Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. 

  • Must have good time management and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to create and interpret mathematical formulas related to warehouse analysis, including concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

  • Must have a good understanding of USDA regulations. 

  • Ability to solve business problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats.

Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive 

auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
