The Lourie Center Head Start, Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Family Engagement Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. Qualified candidates will be eligible for a $2000 sign-on bonus.

The Lourie Center Head Start (LCHS) program is a federally funded, community-based program for low-income families as well as pregnant women with children from birth to five years old. The program serves children with disabilities, children in foster care and families that are homeless.

As a Family Engagement Specialist, you will:
• Participate in recruitment and program enrollment of families, to include coordination of enrollment transition activities.
• Utilize data from the Family Strength Assessment to identify support needed, aiding in the development of plans and setting goals tailored to each family’s journey towards achieving positive and lasting transformation.
• Encourage, organize and oversee family engagement initiatives, promoting active involvement in program activities while seeking feedback from participants to promote and ensure a positive experience.
• Collaborate with Head Start service area managers and Childcare Partner directors to identify family interventions and support needed.
• Establish and maintain child records, documentation and relevant family data within the data management system.
• Provide families with resources, training, and ongoing support during the early intervention evaluation and eligibility process.
• Identify families in need of services and provide referral resources within the community; increasing health, housing and economic equity.
• Participate in meetings, training and collaborations pertinent to the position as identified by leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:
• High school diploma required, associate's degree preferred
• 3 years working in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic communities.
• Must obtain the Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, driving between locations is involved.

*Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus who are transferring from one entity to another and/or transferring within their entity. Employees that have terminated their employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign-on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign-on bonus.

Pay Range:

$48,360.00 - $67,704.00

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
