About the Team
The Data Platform and Observability team is based in Pleasanton,CA; Boston,MA and Dublin, Ireland. We enable real time insights across Workday’s platforms, infrastructure and applications. Our focus is on the development of large scale distributed data systems to support critical Workday applications.The team provides software for collection, ingestion, storage & visualization of critical data assets. We handle 100s of terabytes of data in the form of billions of messages produced daily by Workday applications and underlying services. About the Role
Design and develop critical microservices APIs and frontend UI applications.
Build data capture and collection services using the latest technologies across multiple infrastructures (Kubernetes, CloudVMs, Cloud Native Services)
Build Metrics ingestion pipeline, Alert definitions, and automation for data/dashboard lifecycle
Work with all aspects of observability with a keen eye for data quality, data integrity and data availability.
Evaluate/implement new open source and cloud native tools and technologies, as needed.
Participate in the on-call rotation supporting the data and observability platform.
About You
Basic Qualifications
5 years+ of experience in software engineering
Experience coding in Java
Public cloud experience with AWS
Bachelors of Science or Masters in Computer Science or a related technical field
Other Qualifications
Experience with UI applications such as ReactJS
Understanding of high-performance data capture and collection systems and design of APIs around these systems
Excellent interpersonal, technical and communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
