Tax Accountant, Business Tax Advisory (Quantitative Services) (Senior) (Multiple Positions) (1607183), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Dallas, TX.
Identify various cash tax savings and refund opportunities in the areas of FDII, BEAT, and GILTI planning; R&D credits; accounting methods; capitalization and cost recovery; transaction costs; inventory; and others. Actively participate in analysis of large datasets and the related evaluation of the pertinent laws and regulations, and collaborate with firm subject matter professionals to analyze the client facts. Provide tax guidance and planning for long-term assets, as well as legislative insights into tax policy, for clients. Translate accounting and auditing challenges into effective tax strategies. Prepare effective approaches to clients’ tax needs through automatic and non-automatic accounting method changes. Provide timely and high-quality tax research and the related analysis, including preparation of technical memoranda
Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services focusing on more complex, judgmental and/or specialized issues. Demonstrate technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Learn about EY and its service lines and actively assess and present ways to apply knowledge and services.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, Business, Management, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience in federal income taxation; OR a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, Business, Management, or a related field, and 1 year of related work experience in federal income taxation.
Must have 1 year of experience with 2 of the following: FDII, BEAT, GILTI Planning, R&D Credits, Meals & Entertainment, Sec.199, Revenue & Expense Recognition, Sec.174, Cost Segregation, Capitalization & Cost Recovery, Transaction Costs, Lobbying Expense Analysis and Inventory/UNICAP.
Must have 1 year of experience in MS Excel.
Must have 1 year of experience in data mining tools, and data analytics and visual tools, including Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query and Alteryx.
Must have 1 year of experience researching tax trends, developments, and technical authorities and applying them to clients’ tax situations.
