Payment Posting Representative - Intermediate (Dental)

The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of payments, denials and adjustments. Accurate and detailed posting of EOB payment from the insurance companies and patient check or credit card payments to the patient account. You will serve as the focal point for payment posting and problem solving to provide the best outcomes for our organization and our patients. You must be able to work with a high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Daily postings of payments in the Practice Management System. Pulling EOBs and other correspondence from various insurance websites and other entities. 
• Posts denials to patient accounts. 
• Balances payments posted back to the original deposit amounts. 
• Transfers copay/coinsurance and deductible balances to patient responsibility. 
• Posts contractual adjustments to patient accounts. 
• Posts insurance payment using the Explanation of Benefits (EOBS) against appropriate line-item service and enter adjustments as indicated. 
• May assist in research and resolving posting discrepancies. 
• May perform Payment Audits as directed by management. 
• Reviews and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of documents and transactions. 
• Interprets, evaluates, and clarifies requests to determine potential payment issues. 
• Assists other members of the team as needed. 
• Other duties as assigned.

• Working knowledge of EOBs, EFTs and ERAs Ten Key Proficiency 
• Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits forms, claim forms, and the insurance billing process 
• Must be detailed oriented and have strong accounting skill 
• Must have intermediate Experience with M/S office product including Word, Excel, Outlook 
• Ability to work overtime if needed

EDUCATION:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent

PREFERRED:

Dental and EPIC Billing experience
