Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries has a 2025 Internship Position available at the Essex, VT site for an Instrument and Controls Engineering Intern
Essential Responsibilities include:
Learn Instrument and Control systems across the site
Develop and implement data structure and layout in our PI Historian system along with metrics and reporting that utilize data for continuous system improvements.
Perform project planning, technical analysis, and evaluation of system options and alternatives.
Perform engineering design activities for assigned systems, including capital upgrade evaluations, planning, and expense projects.
Assist and learn maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems in conjunction with Technicians and Engineers
Work with other Facilities departments, including the FAB manufacturing team, to troubleshoot and solve control-related issues
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Education – Actively pursuing a Computer Science / Engineering or, Electrical Engineering Degree or related field.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience
Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
