The Associate Director, Technical Accounting is an integral part of our Finance team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ site.

 

Position Details

The Associate Director, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting works closely with the Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting and counterparts in Corporate Finance, and Divisional Controllers across the global business to address areas of technical accounting, accounting policy, and financial reporting and is a critical team player in the overall success of the finance team.  

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with corporate finance and global operational teams to provide US GAAP accounting and reporting guidance
• Leads the ASC 842 lease accounting and disclosure process
• Ensures all work complies with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
• Drafts accounting memorandums to support the Company’s position on complex technical accounting matters and presents the suggested treatment to management and external auditors
• Assists with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC reports (10-Qs and 10-Ks), ensuring accuracy of disclosures and timeliness of reporting
• Reviews the consolidated balance sheet and income statement analytics and assist with drafting the management discussion and analysis commentary required for SEC reporting
• Assists with providing and reviewing financial information and commentary in support for earnings releases and earnings calls
• Assist with the development, maintenance and communication of global accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls over financial reporting
• Monitor emerging accounting pronouncements, evaluate the impacts to the Company and assists and or takes responsibility for the implementation of new accounting standards
• Assists in training finance team members in relation to new accounting standards and on the Company’s existing accounting policies
• Coordinates with external auditors on quarterly and annual information requests

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting
• ASC 842 lease accounting experience; familiarity with Lease Accelerator a plus
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• Big 4 accounting firm and public company experience preferred
• 6-8 years of related work experience

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting requirements
• Ability to research, interpret and apply accounting standards
• Experience drafting white paper accounting memos and documenting accounting policies and procedures
