SUMMARY
This position is dedicated to supporting the growth, success, and health of the EAA chapter network. This position will successfully support and develop EAA chapter programs as a subject matter expert to provide positive experiences for chapter members. By working with minimal supervision on program development and activities, the duties and responsibilities are directed at promoting the organization and our 900 chapters consistently and successfully to potential and existing EAA members.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership support for all chapter department programs and activities, which may include:
- Support EAA’s chapter department strategic initiatives.
- Assisting developer of chapter programs and initiatives as developed in the organization.
- Lead programs and initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Provide direct communications to senior leaders regarding status of programs.
- Provide EAA staff representation.
- Travel as required to events and EAA program events.
- Preside over events, ceremonies, and dedications for chapters.
- Speak on behalf of EAA and EAA activities to chapters.
- Support and participate in Chapter Leadership training.
- Identify and develop new presentations to capture current trends.
- Create and participate in training presentations.
- Travel as required to Chapter Leadership Training events and EAA program events.
- Provide leadership to plan, organize, and oversee the chapter network’s presence at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
- Oversee chapter Blue Barn and Camp Scholler Chapters Pavilion activities.
- Organize and administer the chapter-based awards.
- Supervise chapter-related activities during AirVenture.
- Provide guidance and training to chapter leaders on recruiting and onboarding new members.
- Development and maintenance of recruiting guidance and materials on EAA.org.
- Assist in training of chapter leaders on generating local community support for aviation.
- Identification of at-risk chapters and development of turn-around guidance and follow-up coaching as needed.
- Embrace and support the EAA mission and perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Two-year college degree and at least 3-5 years of customer service and/or sales/promotional experience.
- Previous experience and knowledge of aviation, EAA, and EAA chapters.
- Two years of chapter service and/or involvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with PC-based systems and applications, including data collection, presentation, database management software, and all methods of electronic communications.
- Ability to organize priorities into effective and attainable goals, conduct work tasks with little supervision, and work independently as required.
- Ability to represent EAA in a professional, enthusiastic manner.
- Project management experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Private pilot certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree.
