We have an exciting opportunity for a DOD Skillbridge Program Intern - Cybersecurity Software and Systems Engineer to join our team.

Do you want to work onsite at NASA in Houston with a dynamic team to create the cybersecurity software and systems engineering backbone for Gateway program? If so, this opportunity may be for you. Our company has teamed up with the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program to provide career opportunities in:

** This is a temporary role not to exceed 6 months. **

DOD SkillBridge Program Fellowship – Cybersecurity Software and Systems Engineer: Collaborate with the NASA/JETS Cybersecurity Engineering team and develop an intimate knowledge of Cybersecurity Software and Systems Engineering. Learn and perform the following tasks:

Spacecraft Cybersecurity Engineering- Develop cybersecurity requirements for spacecraft systems

Learn to perform cybersecurity oversight and impact assessments

Perform assessment for completeness of design and implementation throughout the full software and hardware development lifecycle

Help define NASA's integrated cybersecurity effort on the Gateway program

Help collect and organize the cybersecurity architecture elements such as Needs, Goals, Objectives, Capabilities, Processes, and Use Cases

Work with a variety of NASA leadership teams including JSC engineering to develop the needs of NASA cybersecurity

Learn the team/project goals, track progress, and provide weekly status reporting

  • To have served at least 180 days in any of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • To be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any of the U.S. Armed Forces (you may start your application prior to the 180 days)
  • Must be on track to receive an Honorable Discharge
  • Must have taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Must have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Must have command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
  • Must be able and willing to work onsite at JSC in Houston 5 days per week.

  • Must be a self-starter able to perform other duties as required or assigned

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience/exposure with cybersecurity software and systems engineering  

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills

  • Ability to collaborate/coord
