This RN position is a member of the urgent care team that provides assessment to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the crisis center. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve in a supportive team environment.

PAY RANGE: $36.00-$40 / Hr.

Perks about the position:

  • 3 - 12 hour overnight shifts - 4 days off a week
  • $36 +/hour
  • Shift Differential Pay (10%)
  • All patient perform their own ADL's

In this dynamic role, you will be part of a team approach, which involves structured face-to-face triage and assessments to provide information, recommendation and support.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for utilizing your skills and expertise, current nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess clients, participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and responding to crises on a timely basis.
  • Completing basic nursing assessment including vitals and withdrawal scales
  • Participating as member of interdisciplinary team
  • Complying with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies
  • Monitoring consumers up to 24 hours while waiting on linkage to appropriate level of care
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders such as receiving facilities, pharmacy, residential programs
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, can pick up on nonverbal communication and is eager to work on nonstandard nursing assignments.


Job Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Some college training and/or management experience helpful
  • Valid drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.

Essential physical and sensory requirements include:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. 
  • The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to demonstrated proficiency in CPR from floor level. Practicing CPR skills will require you to work on your hands and knees, bending, standing and lifting. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
