Senior Clinical Consultant, Pharmacy
Pharmaceutical Strategies Group LLCAbout the role
PSG (An EPIC owned company) is seeking a Sr. Clinical Consultant to provide consultative, clinically grounded guidance to payer clients in the rapidly evolving drug management market. This role combines deep clinical expertise with rigorous, data-driven analysis to shape clinical strategy, evaluate pharmacy and medical benefit programs, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations that improve outcomes and reduce total cost of care. An ideal candidate is a confident individual contributor and trusted advisor—detail oriented, highly collaborative, and able to translate complex clinical and financial information into executive-ready insights.
Key Responsibilities
• Consultative Clinical Strategy: Partner with payer clients as a trusted clinical advisor to design and refine drug management strategies across benefits and channels (pharmacy and medical), informing PBM and coverage decisions with evidence-based, practical recommendations.
• Vendor Clinical Program Evaluation: Assess and benchmark PBM and other industry vendor clinical programs (e.g., utilization management, specialty management, care management) using clinical evidence, operational feasibility, and performance data to inform optimization opportunities and client recommendations.
• Data-Driven Clinical Insights: Leverage medical and pharmacy data to assess program performance, identify trend drivers and outliers (e.g., high-cost claims, site of care, utilization patterns), and translate findings into targeted clinical strategies and measurable recommendations.
• Pipeline and Trend Advisory: Monitor emerging therapies, clinical guidelines, and market dynamics; model potential client impact and provide proactive, consultative guidance on readiness, coverage strategy, and program design.
• Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate with analytics, consulting, and enterprise partners to develop clinically sound deliverables—linking data, evidence, and operational realities into clear client stories, recommendations, and implementation considerations.
• Client Advisory Partnership: Build and maintain senior client relationships; serve as a highly visible subject matter expert who can facilitate discussions, pressure-test options, and guide decision-making with clinically credible, financially informed recommendations.
• Thought Leadership: Strengthen PSG’s market presence by distilling complex clinical and industry trends into pragmatic points of view (e.g., blogs, client education, webinars, and speaking engagements) that help clients act on insights.
Location: Remote (US based)
