Job Description:
Under minimal supervision, the Sr. Quality Engineer will support site Quality Engineering activities (Cleveland facility). Responsibilities include, but not limited to, Quality Engineering, Internal Audits, Document Management & Change Control, Data Analysis, development and publishing of Quality Metric Reports, coordination of Internal & External Audits, Training Management, Internal & External Corrective Actions and support N.A. Supplier Quality.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and conduct Internal Audits to ensure compliance to IATF-16949 requirements.
- Support the development of DFMEAs by working with Engineering and Manufacturing partners to ensure compliance to customer requirements.
- Work with external Manufacturing partner Quality personnel to achieve product quality.
- Drive continuous Quality Improvement efforts utilizing quality tools such as Lean 6 Sigma.
- Work with external Manufacturing partners on Corrective Actions (8D), MRB (Material Review Board), and First Article Inspections.
- Support Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA) on discrepant products as well as support the implemention of improvements needed to prevent reoccurences at Manufacturing partners sites.
- Direct the Document Management and Change Control System.
- Develop and publish site Quality Metric Reports.
- Support external customer and/or 3rd party Auditors and act as the company representative.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must have strong teamwork and communication skills including the ability to work with customers, suppliers, Manufacturing partner site and other departments.
- Ability to use precision inspection, measuring and test equipment.
- Ability to achieve defined objectives, targets and goals with minimal supervision.
- Able to work successfully in a fast paced environment and effectively multi-task multiple priorities.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with IATF 16949, AS9100 or ISO9001 preferred
- Experienced with AS9102 Aerospace First Article Inspection Reports (FAI) preferred
- Ability to read, interpret and analyze basic to complex Engineering and Customer drawings.
- Must be skilled in computer Office software (such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Required Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent required
- 5 or more years of quality engineering experience preferred
