Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide technical and organizational leadership for cross-functional engineering teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the lead technical and engineering resource for global manufacturing operations supporting Heat Shrink Tubing, Thermoplastic Extrusion, and related polymer processing technologies. The Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing team focused on process excellence, manufacturing performance, technical problem solving, and successful execution of strategic operational initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers by setting a strong example of technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and structured problem solving.
  • Provide engineering leadership for heat shrink tubing, FEP processing, thermoplastic extrusion, and related manufacturing operations.
  • Support and execute the operational strategy for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Define, implement, and improve process monitoring tools and techniques to fully characterize manufacturing processes and improve process control.
  • Partner with product development, operations, quality, and manufacturing teams to achieve innovation objectives and execute successful product and process launches.
  • Evaluate products and processes for manufacturability and provide technical guidance for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Define and execute engineering plans that support safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Develop an engineering organizational strategy that delivers exceptional service and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess risk, compliance, and technical readiness across the area of responsibility.
  • Build, develop, and maintain a high-performing engineering team through coaching, talent assessment, development planning, and succession planning.
  • Manage capital expenditure planning and execution for the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure performance management and employee development activities are completed in accordance with TE policies and procedures.
  • Support and champion safety initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive innovation and apply a dynamic approach to changing market demands, customer requirements, and technology trends.
  • Assess and optimize workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Improve existing methods by adapting or modifying traditional approaches to enhance quality, capability, cost, or value.
  • Determine the best course of action to meet project schedules, resolve technical challenges, and support business priorities.

What your background should look like

  • Strong foundational knowledge of thermoplastic processing, including polymer extrusion, material science, and process development.
  • Experience with FEP, heat shrink tubing, polymer processing, medical tubing, or similar extrusion-based manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Engineering or a related technical field; Manufacturing, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an advanced manufacturing environment with progressive levels of responsibility.
