Manager, Operations (Air / Ocean / Import / Export / Customs)
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of DSV's transportation and logistics division for the local branch, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for managing staff, developing, and implementing operational policies and procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the transportation and logistics division, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to ensure that all team members are working effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including productivity, cost, and quality, and develop plans to improve performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied with the services provided.
- Collaborate with other departments, including sales and customer service, to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working together effectively.
Educational background / Work experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational issues and challenges.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
