Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations Accounting, Rebates and Agency, the Rebate Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reconciliation for all rebate activity including monthly GL reconciliations, journal entries, research & validation, tracking of cash receipts, and evaluation and reporting for North America.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Month end entries to record rebate accruals and rebate activity
  • Reconcile and monitor assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Track and allocate rebates received during the year to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Work with Strategic Supply Managers to complete inventory revaluations and product cost adjustments within accounting system
  • Work with Strategic Supply Managers on inventory protection programs allocating terms to locations carrying applicable inventory as well as working capital adjustments as needed
  • Assist with researching discrepancies on monthly sales reports
  • Maintain amortization schedules for prepay discount, inventory reserves and rebate programs not currently built into rebate system
  • Run reports from multiple system sources and reconcile to P&L’s for month end reporting
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by Management
  • Aid in implementation, planning and problem-solving for SAP/Vistex system transition

 

What you will bring: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Related Field
  • 2+ years of practical experience plus demonstrated leadership skills
  • Working knowledge with ERP systems, knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or SAP is an asset
  • Ability to lead by example and work well with others
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to prioritize and work with competing deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written communication, strong computer (MS Office – Excel), analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and analyze issues and apply accounting standards to reflect accurate financial reporting
  • Strong integrity and business ethics

 

Compensation & Benefits:

 

Salary Range $64,000 - $88,000 annually. This range is estimated for Accountant, Retail, Rebate Accounting role in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
