The Advanced Networking Solutions engineering organization, located in St. Petersburg, FL, is seeking an Associate Director of Systems Engineering to join our systems engineering team as onsite Program Chief Engineer for the Cooperative Engagement Capability. 

The Program Chief Engineer for the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) is responsible for overseeing the technical direction, development, and execution of the CEC program. This role involves leading teams of multi-disciplined engineers and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of program objectives. The Program Chief Engineer will ensure the integration of advanced sensor and communication technologies to enhance situational awareness and decision-making capabilities. Key responsibilities include managing technical risks, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and driving innovation to meet the evolving needs of defense and aerospace customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in systems engineering, and a deep understanding of defense technologies as they relate to anti-air warfare, real-time communications and CEC.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall technical direction and leadership for the program, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and customer requirements; Leads and mentors teams of engineers and technical staff, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Oversees the integration of various subsystems and components, ensuring they work together seamlessly and meet performance standards; Ensure that all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Acts as the primary technical point of contact for customers, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with the program's deliverables; Drives the development and implementation of new technologies and processes to enhance program capabilities and performance.
  • Collaborates with program management to ensure that engineering activities are completed on time and within budget; Identifies, assesses, and mitigates technical risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful program execution.
  • Implements and maintains rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the engineering solutions.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Successfully executed in a previous senior engineering leadership role; Demonstrated communication and presentation skills with the ability to seamlessly present to the appropriate information to numerous stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience working with large, complex Navy system-of-systems from both a development and maintenance perspective and from an architectural perspective.
  • • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • Active and transferable DoD Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoDAF Architect certification.
  • Experience developing system architectures, designs, and test methodologies in a team-based environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevSecOps and test automation.
  • Experience with US Naval system of systems architectures and technologies, including combat systems, networking, airborne and surface tracking, and identification friend or foe systems
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including ability to produce technical documentation, and the desire to learn new technologies and tools.
