About the Role
In this opportunity as Director, Sales Incentive Operations, you will:
- Lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing cross-segment Sales Incentives team.
- Define and implement compensation/incentive design programs that encourage desired sales team behaviors aligned to overall sales force/organizational goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, Finance, Accounting and HR, to understand business needs and ensure cohesive execution of compensation strategies and ability to execute.
- Ensure incentive plans are aligned with selling priorities at the segment and sub-segment levels.
- Verify all incentive plan designs adhere to market best practices.
- Collaborate with HR to benchmark sales compensation pay levels and structure.
Key Deliverables:
- Percentage of sales force self-reported as motivated by incentives.
- Achievement of incentive plan performance targets, including performance distribution, correlation between payout and performance, and differentiation in sales incentive payouts.
- Ensuring top performers receive an intended multiple of target incentive.
- Qualitative feedback on plan effectiveness from sales managers and leaders.
- Conduct in-depth market research to benchmark the organization's compensation plans against industry competitors and emerging trends.
- Develop clear and comprehensive communication and enablement strategies to educate the sales team on incentive plans, ensuring understanding and motivation.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Director, Sales Incentive Operations if your background includes:
- 10+ years’ experience of Sales Compensation experience, with expertise in sales incentive design, ideally in a high-growth technology environment.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with compensation/incentive package design and metrics.
- Strong analytical capability.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in stakeholder and relationship management, influence, and gaining credibility.
- Highly entrepreneurial and builds effective cross functional relationships to develop joint solutions.
- Demonstrated experience initiating and leading business performance improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in an agile environment.
- Ability to effectively navigate and perform in dynamic and matrixed environments.
