We are seeking a Manager/Senior Manager of Engineering  for our First Quality Home Care Products facility located in Salt Lake City, UT. 

The role will serve as a key leader in the First Quality Home Care Products, responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers through a period of substantial growth. This individual will oversee all aspects of plant engineering, plant capital projects, process optimization, and facility expansion, ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of a world-class production environment.

The ideal candidate has CPG engineering experience, a strategic thinker, an exceptional communicator, and a hands-on technical leader with experience within mechanical, electrical, chemical, and structural systems in a manufacturing setting.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Team Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team of four direct reports.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    • Align team objectives with company goals and the First Quality Core Values.

  • Engineering Oversight:

    • Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and structural engineering disciplines.

    • Ensure all equipment, utilities, and facilities support efficient and compliant production.

    • Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to drive operational excellence.

  • Project Management:

    • Lead capital investment and expansion projects from concept through commissioning.

    • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring alignment with plant strategy and ROI expectations.

    • Oversee contractors, vendors, and design firms to ensure quality and compliance with First Quality standards.

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Contribute to long-term facility and capability planning as the site scales for future growth.

    • Identify and implement new technologies that enhance production efficiency, sustainability, and safety.

  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, operations, and corporate leadership.

    • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Build strong relationships across departments and with external partners.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Promote and enforce First Quality’s safety and environmental standards in all engineering activities.

    • Ensure all engineering designs and projects comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Champion continuous improvement engineering tools including early management, IQ/OQ/PQ and performance monitoring and sustainability

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical required.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and large-scale capital projects.

  • Experience within chemical, home care, or consumer products manufacturin
