Job Description

Key responsibilities

The demands of this role will involve motivating and managing your team to the timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices and expenses to suppliers and colleagues and assisting with their enquiries and queries.

You will be responsible for offering support & guidance to colleagues on difficult issues as an expert within the team.

This role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. You will also need to interface with other internal SSC teams.

You must ensure that all company policies are adhered to and that specific duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues. 

The P2P Team Lead is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

  • Manage the full end to end P2P process; Invoice processing, PO Maintenance, Payments, T&E and queries.
  • Payment run authorisations
  • Manage exceptions around processes
  • Provide internal/external audit with supporting documentation
  • Monitoring performance and managing performance metrics
  • Manage training and onboarding of new business
  • Escalated query resolution
  • Ad-hoc reporting where required
  • Ensure service levels are met
  • Ensure appropriate work tasks are distributed within the team
  • Pro-actively review work processes for continuous improvements

PEOPLE Management RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee, motivate and manage teams in a P2P environment.
  • People development to ensure the effectiveness of all colleagues within the department concentrating on both performance and soft skill development
  • Planning and prioritising the work within the department ensuring resource management is considered
  • Preparation and reporting of specific performance metrics within agreed deadlines
  • Ensure a robust communication structure is in place across the team to ensure all key messages are communicated.
  • Participate in Recruitment & Selection processes
  • Provide assistance in identifying career development opportunities for direct reports
  • Actively support a culture of team engagement
  • Escalated team admin issues
  • Act as a role model to others
  • Work closely with HR to ensure all people management processes and policies are being adhered to

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lead, oversee, motivate and manage people in a P2P environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal departments and key suppliers
  • Improves processes & systems
  • Problem solves within tight deadlines
  • Be pro-active and take initiative and encourage teams to do the same
  • Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems
  • Act with integrity, tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Highly organised, diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills whilst working under pressure
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential
  • Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines
  • Demonstrable success in improving payment levels
  • Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of leadership, coaching and people development including best practice in a P2P environment covering people, processes and technology
  • Significant knowledge of all P2P processes
  • A minimum of senior level knowledge of SAP & Oracle systems
  • Knowledge of dealing with acquisitions & disposals
  • A track record of continuous professional and management development
  • Knowledge of lean
