Bennion Junior High School - CTE �College & Career Awareness (CCA)/FACS � (1.0 FTE) External Applicants Only
 
This position is for a Family Consumer Science (FACS) teacher at Bennion Junior High School for the 2026-2027 school year.  The teacher may be responsible for teaching: 

  • College & Career Awareness
  • FACS Exploration

Required Certification - Requires one of the following: 

  • a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with one of the following endorsements: Family & Consumer Sciences Basic, Family & Consumer Sciences (6-8), Family & Consumer Sciences (CTE/General), Family Consumer Sciences Essentials;
  • a valid Associate Secondary Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with one of the following endorsements: Family & Consumer Sciences Basic, Family & Consumer Sciences (6-8), Family & Consumer Sciences (CTE/General);
  • a current out-of-state license with a Family & Consumer Sciences related endorsement.
  • New graduates from teacher preparation programs who have not yet received their official teaching license should upload a conferral letter from their university in place of the license. The conferral letter must be on official university letterhead and must include:
    • The degree earned
    • The anticipated graduation date
    • The type of license and content area(s) in which the candidate will be recommended to the Utah State Board of Education

Candidates must have officially graduated prior to the position start date.  An official copy of the teaching license and degree will be required upon hire.

  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related field such as: Family & Consumer Sciences, Human Development & Family Studies, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Design & Merchandising;
  • Have completed a minimum of two (2.0) credits of coursework in each of the following subject areas within the past fifteen (15) years: Marriage Family or Human Development, Food Science, Culinary Arts or Nutrition Lab course, Intermediate Sewing/Sewing Construction, Interior Design/Housing (a transcript must be attached with the courses circled). 

Required Documentation - Please upload the following document with your application depending on your licensure/credential situation above:

  • In and out-of-state applicants must upload a copy of their current state license with their application in order to be considered
  • If approved for an Associate License, please upload your AEL eligibility letter in lieu of a full teaching license
  • New graduates from teacher preparation programs who have not yet received their official teaching license should upload a conferral letter from their university in place of the license. The conferral letter must be on official university letterhead and must include:
    • The degree earned
    • The anticipated graduation date
    • The type of license and content area(s) in which the candidate will be recommended to the Utah State Board of Education

  • If qualifying by university degree only, applicant should upload the applicable degree when asked for a teaching license.
  • If qualifying based on courses completed, a college transcript must be attached with courses circled that document ten (10) credits in the five (5) areas listed above. All courses must have a �C' or higher grade to be accepted.
