Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Medical Coding Specialist II!

Position Status: Full-time (40 hours), Day Shift

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Position Location: This is a remote position.

Remote opportunities are available in the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

 

Position Summary:

Comprehensive understanding of the entire billing cycle, medical terminology, coding, charge entry, insurance adjudication, contractual agreement, payment posting, statements and collections.

Required qualifications:

• Coding Certification REQUIRED, Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

• Minimum 5+ years of experience with multi-specialty coding REQUIRED

Preferred qualifications:

• Epic, GECB, or Allscripts experience preferred
