Senior Software Engineer

Descriptions:

We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join Business Aligned Services department to develop Commodities and Equities applications. This engineer would work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain and enhance applications/platforms both on-prem and Azure Cloud migration projects.

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of technologies within LSEG and how they relate to various parts of the business
- Develops tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code, may also review others' code when required and suggest improvements or resolutions where applicable
- Handles own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
- Develops knowledge and expertise in software development and other domains to understand linkages and dependencies enhancing alignments
- Establishes an understanding of strategy and culture, and how they impact own work
- Completes the delivery of given tasks with some guidance and oversight
- Builds strong relationships with team and colleagues and collaborates closely
- Communicates clearly and with precision in a concise format and timely manner
- Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.

Qualifications & Experience:
- 4+ years Experience of Software Engineering

- Proven Experience of Java developing
- Knowledge of multiple programming languages and the ecosystems such as Java, C#, Python

- Experience of Cloud Computing

- Knowledge of Oracle database.
- Knowledge of patterns
- Experience in a Software development and delivery role
- Experience of building Data platforms

- UI/UX experience preferable
- Commodities data experience preferable

Requirements:

- BS/MS in computer science, or related technical major area

- 4+ years Java Developing experience
- 3+ years of proven technical capabilities in delivering and operating high-quality services and/or applications

- Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)

- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)

- Experience in the Spring Framework

- Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
