Utah Conservation Corps Staff Assistant

Overview

The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) Staff Assistant will provide support to UCC staff through data management and member tracking for AmeriCorps program. The UCC Staff Assistant will also assist with other functions of the UCC office. This position is directly supervised by the UCC AmeriCorps Coordinator.

 

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended. 

Responsibilities

Support for AmeriCorps Programs

• Aid UCC staff in managing multiple AmeriCorps grants
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university requirements

Documentation and Member Support

• Maintain and update AmeriCorps member files
• Handle member profiles, onboarding, and exiting processes
• Assist with background checks and evaluations for members

Administrative Assistance

• File and manage online documents
• Handle Service Now requests and office-related tasks
• Support labor distribution and purchasing for the Urban Community Farm

Communication and Coordination

• Regularly communicate with candidates, members, and alumni
• Coordinate with field offices, recruiters, and Business Services representatives for member support
• Assist in reviewing and updating policies, forms, and orientation materials

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or two years of comparable experience preferred.

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to build rapport in diverse environments

Proficiency in Office Tools and Data Management

• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and online office tools
• Accurate management of complex data with minimal supervision
• Organizing and tracking large volumes of electronic files in multi-user systems

Adaptability and Organizational Skills

• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and prioritize multiple projects
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Compliance-Oriented Approach and Documentation

• Understanding and consistent documentation of procedures in a compliance-driven environment
• Familiarity with community, non-profit, or conservation issues preferred

• Solid work ethic and commitment to excellence

Advertised Salary

$20.00 per hour

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
