Front-End Software Engineer, Senior - 1756

Reinventing Geospatial (RGi) is a leading geospatial expert working with Defense, Intelligence, and Federal clients to achieve mission success and solutions for varied mission-critical programs. Projects at RGi span a wide range of software and analytical methodologies and lie at the intersection of software development and geospatial intelligence. We work with soldiers and geospatial analysts to produce solutions that allow them to develop better situational understanding of complex operational pictures. We do everything from data collection to UI/UX development and advanced deep learning, using a broad toolset including Python, C#, and ArcGIS. Our projects include cutting-edge R&D efforts, as well as large mission programs incorporating data processing/optimization, data dissemination techniques, visualization, and collaboration across the commercial and government sectors. 
RGi is looking for a talented Front-End Software Engineer that is passionate about technology and who is motived to help drive our customers’ and company mission forward. This individual will be a key member of a software development team translating real-world needs into technical solutions. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and able to balance simultaneous tasks while delivering quality results.

Qualifications

• Determine technical objectives for user requirements and specifications and plan for enterprise software development within the broader organizational scope. Software development encompasses end-user, system level, and data management applications
• Formulate plans and guides the development and implementation of software solutions including language, coding, platform, resource requirements, testing, and documentation.
• Plan and coordinate deployment of enterprise applications including cross-platform compliance.
• Plan and coordinate the maintenance of enterprise solutions including debugging, maintenance, and updating to ensure viability in an evolving environment.
• Plan for future applications based on new developments in computer technology.
• May function in a leadership role for a project and/or program and provide direction and guidance to less experienced developers or team of developers.
• Represent the organization as a prime technical contact for the project and/or program with the software developer group, customer, and management as well as with the wider community through the publishing and presentation of technical papers.
• Assist in the development of additional sources of revenue.
• Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sicence, Information Systems, or related field
• Extensive expertise of software development concepts, principles, and theory and demonstrate extensive technical expertise and application of programming and analysis concepts.
• Ability to develop and communicate new concepts and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals, and capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
• Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced software development problems.

Additional Skills We’d Like to See:

• Use React, Preact, Angular, or have experience with other JS frameworks
• Have experience writing in TypeScript
• Have experience with css pre-processors (Stylus, LESS, SASS, etc)
• Use data visualization tools/toolkits such as d3 or similar libraries
• Have experience developing map based applications using OpenLayers, Leaflet, Google Maps, etc.
• Are familiar with all aspects of software development, including client/server programming
• Have the ability to drive and review APIs for back-end functionality
• Are interested in data mining, analytics, and/or machine learning

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility 
• US Citizenship Required.
