Role and Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Sr. Manager of Business Intelligence, Data Governance & Transformation Performance will drive Business Intelligence & Finance Operation systems, change management, and process transformation. This position will report to the Director of Investments, Incentives, Performance & Transformation.
This person will demonstrate technical depth in data operational intelligence dashboards, strategy formulation, tools and process improvement, and a passion for growing and developing a technical data team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead and build and manage a BI team of talented data technical professionals
- Drive successful management and delivery of business transformation and executes strategies and directions to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization
- Develop BI interactive Tableau dashboards and regularly provide business updates, insights, storytelling, recommendations, and strategic guidance to executive leadership
- Implement and deploy an agile planning tool to centralize finance functions
- Facilitate, develop, and maintain systems and processes to produce more transparent and accurate financial statement reporting while improving efficiencies for the finance organization.
- Formulate management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy and accuracy
- Interacts with key stakeholders, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams from a wide variety of backgrounds to develop, implement, and ensure successful business outcomes
- Continuously Identify and evaluate new technologies and tools embedding ML, AI, and robotics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial data management and analysis
- Build automation, design create data sources and application program interfaces (API)
- Incorporate emerging business intelligence technologies, industry trends, and best practices, as appropriate into the organization’s data capabilities
- Coach and support team members towards excellence in BI best practices
- Create and drive a business transformation culture of individual ownership, responsibility, and visibility
Skills and Qualifications
Background/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field and 8+ years' of experience in implementing planning tools and transforming financial systems. Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years’ experience with Tableau/SAP/SQL is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication and story-telling skills with ability to present simply to non-technical audiences in a simple and easy to understand way
- Knowledge of key technology enablers designed for Finance and Accounting productivity (e.g, Consolidation tools, Month End Close Management tools (Tableau, SAC or Adaptive, Snowflake etc.) RPA, Imaging Platforms, Workflow Tools, OCR, Task Managers, Reconciliation Platforms, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, data governance, data analytics, and financial reporting principles and best practices
