This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s Corporate Office locations in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Discovery Land Company is seeking a Senior Benefits Coordinator to join the Human Resources Department.
The Senior Benefits Coordinator will support Discovery Land Company’s Corporate Human Resources team by managing employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing the overall employee experience. This role is critical in maintaining the accuracy of benefits data, optimizing Workday processes, and resolving employee benefits inquiries efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, and retirement plans.
- Manage and update benefits-related data in HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance; proficiency in Workday is required.
- Partner closely with the HRIS operations team to audit and address benefit-related issues and manage related projects.
- Act as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Oversee and execute open enrollment processes, including planning, system updates, communication, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local benefits regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to evaluate and recommend improvements to benefits offerings to maintain competitiveness and cost efficiency.
- Support and work with global HR leaders on benefits-related projects and initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers to resolve claims issues and ensure efficient service delivery.
- Analyze benefits utilization data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for HR leadership.
- Partner with benefits brokers to prepare and submit compliance reports, such as ACA filings and 5500 forms, in a timely manner.
- Partner with CHRO or VP of HR to assist in the development and implementation of wellness and employee engagement programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the CHRO and VP of HR.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; comparable experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, preferably within the real estate or hospitality industry.
- Strong proficiency in Workday is required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local benefits regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
- Experience with MS Office suite.
- HRIS Experience; Workday experience required.
- Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
