About the Position

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the analysis and ongoing review of capital spending and leasing. The role provides strategic advice, financial accounting, and analytical guidance for capital requests including all planned & unplanned capital spend, strategic investments & projects.

 

Functions

·        Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of site level, divisional and company performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic targets

·        Under little supervision, responsible for complex and interpretive complex financial analyses and reports for department management to support strategic decision-making.

·        Directs monthly financial routines and complex reports (e.g. analysis and reporting of CAPEX requests, budget vs. actuals analysis, development of Management Description and Analysis (MD&A), Key Performance Indicators (KPI)).

·        Leads financial initiatives, the planning/budgeting process. Leads the development and review or operational budgets and what if scenarios.

·        Collect, input and analyze company and divisional metric data

·        Make recommendations for operational performance improvements

·        Research and document key variances from budget or expected financial I operational performance

·        Prepare ad hoc reports to support operational related projects and shared services functions, as directed by management

·        Analyzes pricing and performance of new or recurring business

·        Serves as point of contact for operational analysis issues and questions

·        Serves as decision support by provide financial alternatives and sensitivity for business initiatives

·        Serves as an advocate and advisor for operating divisions and their needs

·        Demonstrates appropriate understanding of accounting principles and internal controls

·        Coaches less experienced Corp. Financial Analysts

·        All other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

·        Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required

·        Master’s degree, CMA, CPA, and/or FP&A strongly preferred.

·        Minimum 5-8 years of combined corporate accounting/finance and FP&A or investment required.

·        Strong working knowledge of ROI, FP&A, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

·        Strong analytical and financial modeling background and experience.

·        Experience with ERP systems like Great Plains required.

·        Expert Microsoft Excel abilities (i.e. reporting, modeling, pivot tables, macros, data tables, simulations, etc.).

·        Prior third-party logistics experience strongly preferred. Large company experience preferred.

·        Ability to mine data and transform into meaningful analysis

·        Accuracy and timeliness of reports is essential
