Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions for a multi-unit hospital, common areas up to 500,000 sq. feet. Responsible for daily supervision. Ensure housekeeping/maintenance standards of meeting and exceeding customer expectations are kept. Provide on-the-job training to staff, including proper use of chemicals and equipment, and ensure compliance with published safety standards.



Salary Range: $26.92 - $50.86 / hourly

  • Must have a knowledge of effective cleaning techniques and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Exhibits proficiency with all techniques and equipment used in department, i.e., floor machine, automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, floor sanders to prepare wood floor for refinishing.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Provides effective decisions by clear and logical thinking.
  • Ability to plan, train and provide work direction to other in a manner that is conducive to full performance and high morale of the employee.
  • Recognizes needs and suggests and /or makes recommendations for change to Superintendent.
  • Willingly seeks assistance from Superintendent in difficult situations.
  • Needs to be self-motivated.
  • Read and review articles and magazines related to the Environmental Services issues.
  • Maintains and has a positive and helpful attitude with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Responds to and resolves complaints with a sense of urgency.
  • Works under constantly changing environment, sometimes under stressful conditions.
  • Adheres to Department and University Attendance Policy and Guidelines.
