The <b>Senior Software Engineer</b> will work on developing new Java middle tier/server-side functionality for the system. This position will involve new product development and requires financial software experience or alternatively a strong understanding and interest in financial markets.</p><p></p><p>This is an opportunity to work within a very strong, senior level engineering team and help to develop challenging new products in the financial space.</p><p></p><p><span><b>This job is a hybrid role with at 3 days in the office per week</b></span><span><b>, which you can perform from our offices in Krakow and Gdansk.</b></span></p><p></p><h1><span><b><b><b><b><b><b><b><b>Your new role</b></b></b></b></b></b></b></b></span></h1><p></p><p>As a <b>Senior Software Developer</b><b> </b>you will:</p><ul><li>Contribute as a Sr. Individual Contributor within a team of top engineers using Agile methodology</li><li>Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation</li><li>Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems</li><li>Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues</li><li>Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRDs business</li><li>Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews</li><li>Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality product.</li><li>Identify ways of improving development test methodologies contribute to and related test methodology frameworks</li><li>Conduct manual tests to ensure a high-quality product.</li><li>Provide troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations</li><li>Engage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives</li><li>Plan and coordinate cross-team activities groups to complete assignments.</li><li>Mentoring and guiding on designs to Junior Engineers</li><li>Demonstrate more independence of design and development.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Stack: Java, Spring, Microservices, React, SQL, Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Snowflake</b></p><p></p><h1><span><b><b><b><b><b><b><b><b>What we value</b></b></b></b></b></b></b></b></span></h1><p></p><p><b>Desired skills and competencies:</b></p><p></p><ul><li><span>4-8 years of experience in Java development - preferably in the FinTech (financial markets) area</span></li><li><span>B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical course of study required.
