The Lead IT Business Analyst - Sustainability is a senior individual contributor role focused on advancing sustainability priorities through strategic digital solutions. In this pivotal position, the individual will lead complex, high-impact projects and ensure seamless integration within LYB’s broader sustainability and digitalization efforts. Although this is not a managerial role, the Lead Business Analyst is expected to coach and guide junior staff on projects, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable environment. This role is instrumental in connecting the dots between various projects within the team's portfolio and beyond, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to LYB’s Digitalization for Sustainability program, thus creating a silo-free environment.
 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

• Spearhead the development of technology solutions in sustainability, particularly in ESG Disclosure Management, Risk Management, Carbon Management, Product Stewardship, and Sustainable Supply Chain Management.
• Maintain an expert-level understanding of the Sustainability domain and act as a key influencer in shaping its goals, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives.
• Explore and integrate cutting-edge sustainability technologies, providing leadership in their application to strategic projects.
• Provide expert advisement to Sustainability SMEs and stakeholders, optimizing the use of data and technology.
• Oversee entire project lifecycles, aligning delivery with LYB’s strategic objectives in sustainability.
• Proactively identify technical needs and future capabilities in collaboration with Sustainability stakeholders.
• Deliver value through innovative data solutions and problem-solving, implementing scalable and impactful solutions.
• Lead the delivery of critical solutions for high impact projects, enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
• Seamlessly integrate Sustainability data into broader business systems, facilitating organizational decision-making.
• Translate complex information into compelling narratives and visualizations, driving strategy and decision-making.
• Contribute significantly to the development of a data-driven, impact-focused strategy for the Sustainability Team.
• Remain at the forefront of LyondellBasell IT strategies and standards, guiding and influencing customers to align with these strategies.

 

Min. Qualifications

 

• An experienced professional with over 8 years in IT Business Analyst roles, showing growth and increased responsibility, particularly in sustainability-focused sectors.
• You are both technically savvy and a sustainability domain expert.
• A strategic thinker with extensive insights into ESG and sustainability trends and their integration into technology and business strategies.
• Skilled at guiding cross-functional efforts and linking ESG topics with measurable outcomes.
• Adept at distilling complex information and leading diverse teams towards informed decision-making.

 

This what you bring:

 

• A master’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field, with a robust foundation in sustainability and technology.
• 8 years of experience in IT Business Analyst roles or similar, showing growth and increased responsibility, particularly in sustainability-focused sectors.
• At least 5 years of experience in the sustainability domain.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global ESG regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in analytics tools and complex data interpretation.
• Proven leadership in managing major, complex data and software projects.
• A strong passion for sustainability and data, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Superior multitasking skills, managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Advanced communication skills, adept at conflict resolution and engaging cross-functional teams.
• Leadership experience in diverse, global environments, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
• A continuous learner, integrating and leveraging new technologies.
• Advanced project management or Six Sigma skills, with a track record of leading successful projects.
• Experience in mentoring junior staff, ensuring smooth system implementations and process adoptions.
