The Quality Control Manager for the Fort Worth (FTW) Landing Gear site is responsible for leading the Quality Control organization and driving a rapid transformation of inspection processes, technologies, and standard work. This role supervises the inspection team and owns all elements of Quality Control processes supporting OEM military production, spares, and repair/return activity, ensuring compliance with AS9100, customer, and DCMA requirements. The successful candidate brings strong Quality and Operational background coupled with the leadership capability to deliver measurable changes. In addition to managing the team, there is an expectation to bring thought leadership and lead change specifically in inspection optimization, sampling strategies, new technology deployment, and improved standard work execution in short order. This leader partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Program Management to strengthen process capability, reduce escapes, enhance efficiency, and improve customer/regulatory confidence.
This position works onsite in Haltom City, TX.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and manage all inspectors supporting OEM, spares, calibration and repair/overhaul products.
- Ensure daily compliance to engineering requirements, drawings, models, specifications, and contracts.
- Maintain readiness for DCMA and customer oversight, including source inspection, surveillance, and corrective actions.
- Lead modernization of inspection methods, including sampling plans, digital inspection tools, optimized routings, and standard work.
- Accelerate adoption of OSV, automated/assisted inspection technologies, and data-driven decision making.
- Champion waste reduction, flow improvements, and inspector efficiency.
- Partner with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to address systemic issues, reduce variation, and prevent escapes.
- Oversee execution of First Article Inspections, conformity assessments, and nonconformance management.
- Ensure ongoing adherence to AS9100 and customer/regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits; implement corrective actions; reinforce process discipline.
- Maintain robust documentation, training, and QMS alignment.
- Build strong working relationships with DCMA, Lockheed Martin, and other customers.
- Communicate inspection performance, risks, and action plans with clarity and credibility.
- Hands-on manager expected to work closely with the stake holders and the Quality leadership team.
- Timely management of quality issues by bringing all relevant functions together and effectively communicating path forward.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading Quality or Production teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.
