Job Description

Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. The Embedded Devices R&D team is exploring opportunities to provide a best in class experience to NBCUniversal’s suite of direct to consumer applications. The team focus’ on gaming consoles, televisions, set-top boxes, among other devices. In this role a team member will contribute to the video playback technology ideas and implementations.

• Brainstorming sessions on video technology opportunities
• Bringing proof of concept work to life on a wide variety of platforms

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in video using V4L, OpenMAX, GStreamer, MediaFoundation.
• C/C++ experience
• Experience with fMP4, H.264, HEVC, AAC, Dolby Codecs.
• Familiar with the tools required to debug video playback and performance
• Use of Windows as a primary development environment
• Passionate about video playback, you strive for playback quality and performance.
• An active participant in collaborative, engaging, ideation sessions. Flexible enough to learn, adapt, and confident enough to educate others.
