The purpose of the Commercial Finance Specialist/Business Partner function is to work shoulder-to-shoulder with cluster stakeholders to drive and impact cluster business performance. Therefore, the Commercial Finance Specialist/Business Partner has a strong regional reference to a subcluster (DACH, Benelux or Nordics) and fulfils a specific Business Partner role.

Key accountabilities for the Commercial Finance Specialist/Business Partner will constitute a subset of the Cluster Commercial Finance accountabilities, and on a more detailed level. These are outlined below:

• Understand the business information needs and design new and develop existing financial standard reports/KPIs to support the decision-making process by providing financial management information, deep dive analysis and performance reporting
• Focal person who conducts and supports the weekly & monthly performance review providing analytical insight, advise on outliers or trend breaks, and support in working towards corrective actions and in charge of coordinating the reporting cycles with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
• Being sparring partner as well as driving discussions and initiatives to provide insight, influence and impact business decisions
• Project management: Responsible for ensuring project progress is tracked and reported in a timely and accurate manner to various internal stakeholders
• Ad hoc projects

The role requires a combination of strong business acumen, commercial finance, business partnering and communication skills, and the ability to guide strategic projects within the market, e. g. new category/channel/product creation and launch. The strong understanding of business acumen is what drives increased business performance in the cluster and markets, making the role the preferred business partner for the market management teams.

 

• Proven working experience (at least 2 years) in commercial finance/finance business partnering, analysis and financial reporting and/or finance consultancy
• Ideally experience from retail, fashion or FMCG industry
• Enjoy working with senior stakeholders/executive management and the challenges this presents
• Be able to communicate, collaborate, challenge and counsel relevant stakeholders on financial decisions, whilst at the same time enjoying “hands-on working” in the engine room and being not afraid of “getting your hands dirty”
• Passion for and patience with large data sets and exceptional analytical skills, with strong understanding of data across multiple sources and ability to combine numbers with strategy and financial insight
• Builds broad-based business relationships across the organization; skillfully influences peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas; proactively surfaces and resolves conflict with minimal noise
• Organization and time management skills; prioritizing (based on impact), planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high-level goals
• Result driven with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English – verbally and written
