Job Description:
The Department of Agriculture and Nutrition Science at Southern Utah University seeks applicants for a visiting assistant professor or lecturer position for the 2024-2025 academic year. The successful candidate will teach range management and natural resource courses in the Agriculture Program. This is a temporary, non-tenure track position for one academic year (9 months), intended to fulfill the needs of the program until a search for a permanent candidate can be conducted.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach and advise undergraduate students majoring in Agriculture. Teaching assignment expected to include Range Management with lab, Wildland Plant Identification with lab, Rangeland-Ungulate Animal Relations, Wildland Ecology, Wildland Restoration with lab, Introduction to Natural Resources Management, and Wildlife Ecology and Management.
- Serve as advisor to the Range Club.
- Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and accommodate changes and improvements in the curriculum and facilities commensurate with the mission of the department, college, and university.
- Participate in program activities serving the agricultural community.
- Participate on department and campus community committees as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Range Management or related discipline required for assistant professor rank. M.S. degree in Range Management or related discipline required for lecturer rank. B.S. degree with appropriate experience will be considered.
- Laboratory skills appropriate to the discipline.
- Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.
- Applied experience in range/natural resource management is preferred.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Broad appreciation and general understanding of components of agriculture and natural resources.
