Position Summary:
We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our surgical robotics team in Methuen Massachusetts. This position will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of the ExcelsiusGPS robotic navigation platform. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including systems, electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality engineering—to drive innovative, reliable, and high-performance mechanical solutions that advance robotic-assisted surgery. The ideal candidate brings strong technical fundamentals in mechanical design, a hands-on approach to prototyping and testing, and a passion for medical technology that improves patient outcomes. Responsibilities include mechanical design (CAD), tolerance analysis, design verification, and support of sustaining activities for deployed systems, as well as contributing to new product development. This role offers the opportunity to work on a best-in-class surgical robotics platform within a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.
Essential Functions:
Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design, develop, and test all aspects of surgical navigation products
May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical components
Support the creation of product requirements, specifications, and test documents.
Support the development of manufacturing test fixtures and documentation
Supports manufacturing, internal testing, and external customers when presented with quality issues. Prioritizes work to identify the root cause and create a corrective plan that ensures timely resolution of issues
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
Experience with SolidWorks
Familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small teams
Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and E-mail
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
Desired skills and experience include:
Experience with injection molding, casting, and CNC machining
Experience with drafting prints using GD&T and tolerance analysis
Experience in Medical Device field
