Role Summary:
Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division is hiring a Director of Engineering for Site FEED Operations (Front End Engineering and Design). This individual will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the upfront engineering and design of small to medium greenfield commercial, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects, from grid connection/substation through to internal distribution. This is inclusive of interconnection studies, system modeling, conceptual design & single line diagrams, control system design and architecture, protections schemes, site layout diagrams, modeling of economic viability, power systems assessment/system integration analysis.
The Director of Engineering manages and grows an engineering team focused on the project-specific design, integration, and application of electrical and civil systems to deliver energy outcomes to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Attract and manage staffing, development, and performance management for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders.
Providing leadership to create and maintain processes used to develop systems, services, and technologies.
Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization.
Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality.
Designing and implementing integration solutions to connect disparate systems, applications, and platforms.
Degree Requirement
An accredited Engineering degree; Mechanical or Electrical or Civil Engineering
An exceptionally qualified candidate will hold a Professional Engineering License for practice within the United States.

Additional Information:
This position is required to work onsite 5 days a week at our Kennett Square PA, Dallas TX, or Peoria IL locations.
This position offers relocation assistance for those who qualify.
This position will require up to 30-50% travel (domestic and international).
