Position Summary 

The Logistics Coordinator position is responsible for the management of Barriere’s trucking budget, as well as the safety and training compliance of all subcontracted drivers. Works with trucking vendors, asphalt, and plant operations to ensure that the integrated logistics planning process is effectively and efficiently utilized. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

 

50% Operations 

• Lead and guide the full utilization of logistics programs (Fleetwatcher, Required Reporting, Dispatching Technology, Trucking Analysis) in all three asphalt groups and materials operation 

• Monitor all subcontracted trucking resources for all material hauls 

• Achieve maximum productivity by ensuring necessary materials are provided as needed at job locations 

• Knowledgeable of daily schedules and trucking analysis being performed 

• Oversight of Trucking Coordinator attendance at weekly group meetings 

• Stay informed on latest technologies and ideas in logistics 

 

20% Clerical 

• Update data as required to guarantee consistency of information across all groups 

• Provide technical support and administrative analysis 

• Develop and validate all methods of productivity analysis 

 

        

20% Customer Service 

• Use partnered vendors and suppliers to complete needed tasks, logistics, rentals, and repairs. 

• Communicates with supervisor, customers, and vendors daily. 

• Work effectively within the organization to meet internal customers’ needs and schedules. 

 

5%   Safety and Compliance 

• Follows company policy, guidelines, and procedures. 

• Provides and makes sure proper PPE is worn, including vendors.  

• Coordinates with the office on certifications. 

 

5%   Other duties as assigned 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

• High School Diploma

 

Required Experience

• (1) One year experience with construction operations and fleet management. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Physical and Mental Demands
