Job Description
- Develop and maintain drive, controls and data acquisition system standards and best practices through collaboration with North American, European, and Asian process technology teams
- Manage the North American controls assessment program to identify and close gaps on obsolete hardware and software
- Own the electrical design and implementation of new equipment and technologies
- Serve as project manager or project consultant for major drives/controls upgrades
- Provide troubleshooting support to manufacturing sites and distribution centers
- Provide cross-functional support to ensure the security of our controls systems
- Support product development group with upgrades and troubleshooting on the pilot coating asset; owner of controls strategy for pilot coater
- Build manufacturing sites' bench strength in controls engineering through collaboration, training and talent assessment
- Promote safety as the most meaningful value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvements and other EHS responsibilities
- Assist in development of capital plans to support the divisional drives and controls strategy
Qualifications
Required:
- B.S. in engineering (BSEE preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in controls or electrical engineering function in a manufacturing environment
- Willing to travel up to 50% of time, primarily in North America
- Expertise in automation, drive and control systems
- Firm understanding of applicable electrical codes, including hazardous locations
- PLCs: Allen Bradley ControlLogix and PLC5 (must), Siemens S7 (preferred)
- Drives: AB Powerflex and Siemens 6SE70 and 6SE120
- HMI software, e.g. AVEVA (Wonderware) InTouch
- Data collection systems, e.g. AVEVA (Wonderware) Historian
- Strong project management skills and experience
- Great teammate; able to coordinate efforts across functions, plants and divisions
- Able to exert influence at all levels of the organization
Preferred:
- Six-sigma green belt or black belt certification
- Able to incorporate a variety of inputs into a cohesive strategy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google suite, and AutoCAD
The salary range for this position is $110000 - $135000 / year.
