The Austin site consists of 2.76 million square feet and more than 600+ acres in land holdings.  Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s economic impact in 2023 generated $15 billion into Austin’s economy through salaries and other expenditures.

 

In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Plan, roadmap, design and evaluate computer networking systems in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Develop and leadership of appropriate architecture solutions and enhancements for planned system deployments and improvements. Plan, design, and support the semiconductor environment local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Datacenters, and Cloud infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, switches, VPN appliances, wiring, and other hardware as assigned. Provide technical support to the operation team for the design, development, and implementation of proposals. Create multi-year and annual capacity budgets for all platforms. Plan and design network infrastructure expansion, replacement, and hardware/software upgrade projects. Coordinate with internal teams to review existing integration capabilities, data sources, and proposed solution designs. Define network requirements; establish architecture, and detail designs and standards that meet business goals. Research and evaluate emerging technology and recommend roadmap and long-term technical strategy. Provide team status updates to management through regular reports, presentations, and KPI tracking.  (Multiple Openings)

Skills and Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Requires 36 months of experience involving the following:                                                          

  1. Cisco Network Administration;
  2. Cisco Wireless Network;
  3. Data Network administration;
  4. F5 administration;
  5. Linux Administration;
  6. Cisco Nexus administration; and
  7. SDN Architecture
