Position Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional and driven leader to join our team as the Director of Cardiovascular Disease. This high-impact role demands a visionary leader with profound expertise in cardiovascular biology and drug discovery. The successful candidate will spearhead the company’s effort to discover, develop, and advance novel targets and assets for cardiovascular diseases, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the cardiovascular disease therapeutic area.
• Drive the identification and validation of new targets for therapeutic intervention.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence within the cardiovascular disease team.
2. Scientific and Clinical Oversight:
• Lead and oversee research and early development programs aimed at discovering novel therapies for cardiovascular diseases.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and implement preclinical studies.
• Ensure that all research activities are conducted in compliance with best practices.
3. Team Management:
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, interdisciplinary team of scientists.
• Promote professional growth and development opportunities for team members.
4. Collaborative Ecosystem:
• Establish and maintain strategic collaborations with academic institutions, and industry partners.
• Represent ProFound Therapeutics in scientific conferences, industry forums, and other relevant external engagements.
5. Budget and Resource Management:
• Develop and manage budgets for the cardiovascular disease therapeutic area.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure the success of research and development programs.

Qualifications:

• MD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in cardiovascular biology, medicine, pharmacology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with a focus on cardiovascular disease research and drug development.
• Proven track record of leading successful preclinical programs in cardiovascular therapeutics.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and execute methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
• Passion for scientific innovation and improving patient outcomes.
