Hours Per Week: 40 hours; Full Time.

Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts, rotating based on needs. Weekend on-call rotation.

SUMMARY:

Our Clinical Resource Nurses are responsible for assisting, guiding, coaching, promoting, and executing quality care delivery throughout the inpatient acute care units. You will serve as a role model and staff nurse support and resource for excellence in clinical care and the overall patient experience.

St Mary's Campus

St Mary's is a 20-bed, inpatient behavioral health facility located at 65 Genesee Street. Our team assists patients with problem solving and safety planning and connect them to other programs and resources for a variety of ongoing mental health and substance use conditions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to round and assist staff nurses in improving quality care by assisting in the provision of direct care as needed.
• Assistance of teaching staff and patients to enhance a patient centered care model and the patient’s individual plan of care.
• Assist in the assessment and completion of required core measures.
• Provides superior patient/family customer service to align with the overall expectation of a positive patient experience.
• Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation.
• Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
• Rounds on each unit throughout the shift to include charge nurse and staff nurse communication to review priority and expected needs of the patients and staff.
• Demonstrates flexibility in meeting staffing needs throughout the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 3-5 years of acute care experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 2 years of psych experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

BS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
